The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is well-connected to the city centre:

The local bus 615 takes you to the Helsinki Railway Station in app. 35 minutes (depends on the route and traffic). One-way regional ticket costs 4,50€ and you can buy it from the driver or from the machine next to the bus stop at the airport. The timetable of the bus 615 is available here.

You can also get to and from Helsinki Airport using the Finnair City buses, departing from the airport and Helsinki city centre every 20 minutes. With the Finnair Bus, the average travel time to the city center is app. 30 min (depending on the traffic). The schedule is available here. The ticket costs 6,20€ and it can be purchased from the driver (cash or some credit cards are accepted).

The taxi from the airport to Helsinki city centre takes about 30min (again, depending on the traffic) and costs app. 35-40 €. There are taxis available outside the arrival areas of the terminals (there might be a queue).

For more information about the tickets and fares in Helsinki see here.

Maps showing the walking routes from Hotel Vaakuna to Hotel Presidentti and from Hotel Presidentti to Helsinki City Hall are available.

The two hotels, Presidentti and Vaakuna, with block reservations for MELODI-2012 participants are both situated in the city centre. Vaakuna is located just near by the railway station where the local airport bus 615 and Finnair bus arrive/depart from. The Presidentti is located 5-10 minutes walk from there.
